Ok, so I had this idea... I reckon most circuit benders have at least a couple of 'killed' machines gathering dust in a corner somewhere. Perhaps we could organize some kind of FREE sharing of dead machines for technology transplant? Often two dead machines can be made into one functioning machine ;D , just by swapping the dead component for a working one.. Simple really, especially when you have an idea what the fault is. So here's my list, with a brief description of the faults. If anyone wants any of it then let me know and I'll get a postage estimate (I'm in UK). Please feel free to add you're busted gear to this thread, along with any other info that might be useful......... cheers y'all.............Dave Roland tr-505 (main board only) - Faulty sram (ic1), possibly busted DAC. Other chips on the board can be salvaged.
Kawai GB-1 drum machine - One of the big IC's (probably ROM) is dead.
Vtech talking whiz kid (talking laptop toy) - sound chip is 'perma-bent', ie stuck in glitch mode.
Casio vl-1 with damaged case - unknown fault, but probably easy enough to fix if you can be bothered.
AMSTRAD CKX-100 (case + sliders only) - might be useful to replace busted keys/buttons or sliders.Furby - perma-bent (forgot to remove the batterys before soldering) I also have about 10 - 15 small speakers, removed from various machines to make room for mods... I'm never likely to use them for anything, so if you want them then let me know.....:-))

Hey Dave, I have a VTeach Talking Whiz Kid too but it is unbent. I also have about 20 small speakers that I honestly have no idea where they have come from. There are many things that I have perma bent but I ended up throwing most of them away. I am going to try to hold on to the in the future for a trade. I am very interested in the Casio but I live in the US, send me a message and we can try to work something out?

One idea of what to make of all the leftover small speakers is to use them for reverbs and echo chambers.
